The Silk Cami is a standard fit, slightly A-line cut top that can be worn loose or fitted depending on your preference. Featuring bias-bound top seams and straps, with side darts - it is a neat and flattering cut.

This camisole is lovingly dyed by Anindilyakwa women who live proudly on communities across the Groote Eylandt Archipelago.

The dying process

Anindilyakwa women hold ancient knowledge of their country. The dying process begins with a bush trip that draws on this knowledge to find and collect roots, leaves, bark and berries that have always been used in traditional dyeing practices.

Back on community, these are boiled in a big drum on a campfire while the women wrap the silk carefully around leaves and found objects. It’s then time for a cuppa and to wait and watch the silk transform from white into a unique reflection of the land.
